A reminder of today's drop in session at Talgarth Library between 1pm and 3pm to discuss the future of the service - and to launch the consultation which will run until April.
There has been an upsurge in Library use locally since the co-location with Ysgol y Mynydd Du & I know that a significant number have indicated that they will be at the drop in tomorrow, where the PCC Cabinet Member, Cllr Rachel Powell, will be present as will senior librarian, Kay Thomas.
The financial situation of PCC has been widely trailed ahead of setting this year's budget - and we are all aware of the climate of uncertainty both locally and nationally. My Group on Powys County Council - the Welsh Liberal Democrats & Greens - will be voting against the proposed Library closures but we may be out voted by the Conservatives and their plain clothes friends and colleagues in Council. What is certain, however, is how valued the library service is - and that we, as members of our local community - will be seeking to do our utmost to safeguard the library, & the vital community hub it provides, in the time to come.
Cllr William Powell
Hope to see you later, from 1pm - 3 pm today at the Library, if you are able to join us.
