On Saturday 1st of December the Volunteers from the 'Talgarth Christmas Lights Group' did themselves proud with a great 'Switch On' in the Town Square. With Mayor Cllr William Powell in attendance and most of the community turning up, a raffle was held between the children to do the big job of pressing the button. Tilly Vucaj of Talgarth was selected and was delighted to press the button. As the countdown began a packed Square listed to music from the Parc & Dare Brass Band and refreshments by the ever kind Luncheon Club ladies who helped creative festive spirit. Santa, of course, was on hand in the Grotto to the merriment of the kids along with music and snow. Our local tender from the Talgarth Fire Brigade joined in and it was great to see them adding to the excitement. Talgarth Mill opened its doors to host a 'Pizza' night and the event was preceded by the Annual Christmas Market in the Town Hall, organised by the Talgarth and District Regeneration Group. All in all a great event. Cheers went up as Tilly pressed the button and started the countdown to Christmas! Marin Draper and all the team would like to extend a massive thanks to the community for its ongoing support of events throughout the year, and for the donations on the night that ensure that Talgarth 'Lights Up' for Christmas.
