* Mayor Jacqui Wilding welcomes everyone
The annual Mayors Parlour hosted by Mayor Jacqui Wilding, took place on the 19th of January. The event in which the Mayor asks the community and volunteer groups to meet up, share information and pass on news of events for the coming year was a great success. This year a bigger than ever number of groups attended with the like of the Talgarth & District Regeneration Group responsible for the 'Flix in the Stix', 'Talgarth Sports' and the 'Grow for Talgarth' campaign, FYI Talgarth, the Talgarth & Pizzoferrato Twinning Association, the Tourist Information and Resource Centre, Talgarth Mill, St John's Ambulance, Hay Brecon & Talgarth Sanctuary for Refugees, Gwent & Powys Army Cadet Force to name but a few. The Wye and Usk Foundation now situated in the old Nat West Bank building gave an update on their projects including the lottery bid for work along the Ennig.
Refreshments were served and nearly all the members of the Talgarth Town Council were present including newly co-opted Youth Councillor Amy Argent. Many groups are looking for new volunteers or people to help run the clubs such as the Army Cadet Force, you can get contact details for the groups from the Town Clerk.
