The annual Macmillan Welsh Tea in memory of ‘Mr Brian Kite’ took place on the 24 October 2017. Brian who organised the Macmillan fundraising Tractor Pull among other things, passed away peacefully after a short illness, in May earlier this year at Bronllys Hospital. Brian a popular local man was fondly remembered during the event oranised by the Talgarth Luncheon Club volunteers.
Many residents, members of the Town Council and elderly members of the community, bussed in by the Brecon Dial-a-Ride team attended the charity event. A raffle was held with donations from residents and local businesses as well as the usual fabulous spread of donated cakes and sandwiches.
Cynthia Argent, one of the organisers said she was delighted with the support for the event which had to date raised of £1,850 for the Macmillan Cancer Support cause. Thanking those who attended, Mr Alun Tandy of Macmillan Cancer Support South West Wales spoke of how vital the fundraising is and expressed his thanks on behalf of the charity for the event held in Talgarth Town Hall. The volunteer team from the Luncheon Club were like to thank the community for their generosity once again in supporting this vital Cancer Charity. Well done to all concerned and a fantastic amount raised for the Macmillan Cancer Care Charity.
