On The Verge Talgarth
Due to popular demand here are the winning entries for poetry competition.
One is by Beverly Jane Johnson the other is from Beryl Pritchard.........but which is which????
Wildflowers & Hedgerows
As a child walking home from school
the flowering verges were so cool
a beautiful rainbow by my side
a paradise for insects and bees to thrive.
But where have all the flowers gone?
the over grown and dappled sunshine lanes?
by widening and zealous mowing they are slain
so please everyone, nature needs a friend
sow bee friendly seeds and maybe she will mend.
There was a bloke called Martin ??
A wildflower meadow he dreamed of startin'??
On The Verge he set up
With dreams of poppies, cornflower and buttercup.??
Gracing the byways with their beauty and colourful hues??
Helping the pollinators, cos they need our help,it said on the news??
So come on Talgarth! Take a leaf from his book ??
Consider a part of your garden having a wild look??
Help the bees,don't use chemicals??
Its better for the insects and animals??
Grow some flowers veg and maybe a tree??
And come join On The Verge!-we're one big happy family!?? More stories
