This is the 36th Brecon Jazz Festival. St Mary's has been involved in the festival in various ways, especially latterly with a full programme of music. This year will see the official opening of the festival take place at St Mary's Church at 11.50am on Friday 9th August. The following gives details of the events and timings
Look out for the Junior Jazz on Friday afternoon which will involve 29 youngsters.
This year we have a new venture for pre school children. Pre school music sessions will be run on Saturday and Sunday morning
during the Brecon Jazz Festival. Details of the sessions are:
Saturday 10th August 9.45am-10.30am
Sunday 11th August 12.45pm-1.30pm
'Ready, Steady, Music!' preschool music session for 1 - 4 year olds.

The sessions will be run by Kath Davies an experienced music teacher who has a passion for making music accessible to all ages and abilities. Having worked with preschool music groups for over 15 years she has developed a successful model of delivery which introduces children to the joy of music making through songs, movement and the the playing of simple instruments.
