Saturday 17th March – Peak Studio, Crickhowell
Totemic: Beasts of the Black Mountains, Pete Fowler
Exhibition open 10am – 4pm
Totem workshop with Pete Fowler and Peak’s Participation Manager, Rachel Dunlop 2-5pm
This family-friendly workshop will provide a relaxed environment for children to create and learn. First, using Pete Fowler’s work for inspiration, we will look at the Beasts of the Black Mountains exhibition and what inspired his ‘monsters.’ Working collaboratively, young artists and their families will construct their own ‘totem blocks’ using cardboard boxes, paint, paper, textiles and found materials. Towards the end of the session, we will construct our totem pole to be displayed in the studio alongside Pete’s original artworks.
Age guide: 7-11yrs.
The workshop is FREE with a suggested donation of £3 per child to cover the cost of materials.
Parents and families of all kinds are encouraged to stay for tea/coffee and take part in activities.
Booking is essential. Early booking is advised due to limited spaces. Please contact rachel@peak.cymru / 01873 811579 to book a place. Please note: Children under 8 yrs must be accompanied by an adult.
