Local couple Debbie Hicks and Simon Mudie, are completing a 'Welsh Base Camp Challenge' to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease Association. Cycling North to South of Wales and covering the three Welsh Peaks, Snowdon Cadair Idris and Pen Y Fan. The couple who are now on the second full day will have cycled 183 miles, and climbed 19,685 feet the equivalent of Everest Base Camp. Today they will be hiking up Pen y Fan the cefn cwm Llwch route then cycle from Neuadd reservoir to Cardiff bay .
After long term friend Professor Norman Palmer died of the crippling disease, the couple set off to raise funds for the charity. Despite the challenging weather conditions at the moment , the couple are making good progress and you can donate to their wonderful cause by going to :
