On a lovely sunny day Talgarth Bowling Club held an open afternoon to coincide with the presentation of their
'Insport Ribbon' award for their continued work towards inclusion .
Offering a taster session and encouraging more women to join the club gave local children some coaching and officially opened the start of their new season. The Chairman Malcom Dodds officially opened the session with the first bowl.
The 'Insport' award was given to Talgarth Bowls Club as they now cater for Disabled members and recently improved their facilities to host a Visual Impairment Bowls competition with Disability Sport Wales Para Bowls .
The addition of accessible facilities was helped by the Keith Morris Appeal which included a new rail to the club house. The club are hosting a second Visual Impairment Bowls day in July and welcome John Wilson and his Para Bowlers back to Talgarth .
This award is recognition of the hard work and dedication of the club, its coaches and volunteers, congratulations from Beverley Tucker , the Disability Sport Wales Development Officer for Powys ( pictured above) and all at Disability Sport Wales.
