A Snow Moon Partial Eclipse will happen tonight..
Stargazers will be able to to see a partial eclipse of the moon tonight which coincides with a February Snow Moon, however a full eclipse is not due until 2019. The event which happens as the earth passes in-between the sun and a Full Moon ...will cast a shadow on the top of the moon.
The eclipse begins at 22:34 GMT and dimming of the moon will start to become detectable with the naked eye after 23:00. It is due to peak at 00:44 on Saturday before ending at 02:53. Get your kids and go and have a look tonight at the event, which is quire rare. As long as there is a cloudless sky you should be able to see it with a naked eye. Temperatures are due to go to freezing tonight so do wrap up warm!
